More than £45,000 has been raised for Wycombe Homeless Connection (WHC) as over 150 people in Marlow and Wycombe swapped their beds for sleeping bags in solidarity with those sleeping rough across our towns.

The Big Sleepout took place over two nights at All Saint’s Church in Marlow and at Adam’s Park, home of Wycombe Wanderers football club.

Heather Stanley, WHC's Fundraising and Communications Manager said “We’ve got a team of volunteers who are doing numerous shifts over the night as well as the sleepouters. It’s great that people from all over the town have come together to help those who need it.

"Over the course of the night, I chatted to many sleepouters who said they knew one night wasn’t anything like what people who sleep rough actually face but they hoped that taking part in the Big Sleepout would be an act of solidarity with those experiencing homelessness and would inspire more people to support our work as well.”

Our special thanks go to the following companies, organisations and people who helped make the Sleepout such an amazing success.

  • Dreams – the main sponsor of the Wycombe Big Sleepout
  • Wycombe Wanderers FC especially Gordon, Mark, Rob, Sophie and every fan who donated
  • The Jolly Cricketers, Chris & Amanda Lillitou and Rex Bakery for breakfast
  • Creed Foodservice for refreshments throughout the night
  • Chaimaa for filming the Wycombe event, the band, and Peter Oxbrow for hosting the Big Quiz
  • The Bucks Free Press, Wycombe Sound and Marlow FM for their support
  • Manor Estates for providing cardboard
  • Tom Kerridge for drumming up support

And as always, thanks to Wycombe Homeless Connections volunteers without whom there would be no Sleepout!
