Wycombe Homeless Connection (WHC) is an award-winning registered charity serving around 500 homeless or vulnerably housed adults each year, focusing on those who do not qualify for council assistance. It is a community project of Wycombe churches, but serves anyone who comes for help, and does not promote religion. We believe that every individual has worth and should have the chance of a fresh start, no matter what their situation.

Communications and Development Officer

High Wycombe

Starting salary: £23,000-25,500 pa depending on experience

  • 37.5 hours per week, flexible
  • Office-based but with the possibility of some home working
  • Will involve occasional evening and weekend working

We are looking for an excellent communicator to help us tell the story of WHC and grow community support by

  • Creating and delivering powerful content via online and offline channels and in person
  • Maintaining and expanding WHC’s individual donor base
  • Leading the organization of fundraising events and WHC meetings
  • Preparing and submitting bids to grant-givers

The successful candidate will be able to communicate creatively, clearly and effectively to different audiences across varied platforms, with well-developed computer skills to support the role. He or she will be able to balance tasks of differing size and priority and work proactively and effectively in a team environment. At least two years’ experience in a similar role are required, ideally in the voluntary sector. The ability to travel around the High Wycombe area, sometimes in the evening, is essential.
