Take action: Everyone in For Good campaign We are asking you to call on your MP to take urgent action so that no one is forced to sleep rough after the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown ends. Homeless Link is the national membership charity for organisations like ours, working directly with people who become homeless in England. They have launched the #EveryoneInForGood campaign urging our government to take the unique opportunity we have to prevent and reduce rough sleeping in the long-term. You’ll know that before the coronavirus pandemic began, we had already worked hard to make sure that everyone who otherwise would have been rough sleeping this winter was able to have a safe place to stay. This meant it was a quick process for us to move everyone into rooms where they could self-isolate. We also picked up the cost for much of this accommodation before the government stepped in at the beginning of April. These actions saved lives. We believe homelessness is always a public health emergency and that no one should ever be left to live on the street on humanitarian grounds. And, while our guests have been off the street, we have seen incredible changes in the way they are living and as a result how we are able to work with them. We have moved many people on into more secure, suitable and stable accommodation. One guest who we have been working with for many years was finally able to take this time of stability to work with us and get a place in supported-living accommodation. We want to see this continue, and for no one to return to the street and for no one else to end up on the street for the first time. The Everyone In For Good campaign urges our government to make three commitments to support us in our work to ensure: Nobody returns or is new to the street Everybody receives support to keep their accommodation No return to business as usual If you agree with these commitments, you can make a difference!
