This Sunday 26 April should be the London Marathon, the world’s biggest one day annual fundraising event, which raised £66.4 million for charities in 2019.

But it, and thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Our amazing fundraisers have already had to call off family fun days and fairs, golf days, glamorous balls, quiz nights and bake sales.

Sadly, we are also not sure yet if we will be able to run our biggest fundraiser of the year – the Big Sleepout 2020… This loss of money is going to hit us hard!

But now the people behind the marathon and other mas participation events have come together to create The 2.6 Challenge, a nationwide fundraising campaign to help charities like us fill the gap!

We are asking you to dream up an activity based around the number 2.6 or 26 that suits your skills and fundraise for us. It can be any activity you like as long as it follows Government guidelines!

Run, walk, skip, ride, scoot 2.6 m/km in a garden, or on a street on your daily exercise…Climb the stairs 26 times, do 2.6 minutes of an exercise you find challenging, juggle for 2.6minutes non-stop…

Or go to the 2.6 challenge website to see 26 more ideas for inside and outside!

You decide and when you’ve picked your challenge, click here to set up your fundraising page at our Virgin Money Giving site. If you're not online you can still take part and see our Donate page for more ways to donate.

And keep in touch. Share your photos and videos and fundraising pages and we’ll share them on!

We can’t wait to hear from you!
