No work, no relationship, no home
John had had a varied life, holding down good jobs in the film industry. But then work dried up, his health faltered and relationships become strained. He slid into debt. Reluctantly, he separated from his partner and lived on his own, claiming benefits to make ends meet.
There was a mix-up and his landlord did not receive any benefit payments. Feeling shocked and guilty, John moved out. The council couldn't help him. He spent some nights in a B&B, but it was too dear. He found himself on the street... Thankfully, one day John saw the poster advertising WHC drop-ins. We were able to help John rebuild his life. He found a place working in a supportive community in the West Country.
