We collect your data so that we can contact you to verify that the person mentioning you as a referee is suitable to work with WHC. This is a legitimate interest of WHC.

WHC may store your data using a company which is located in another country but which offers safeguards as required by UK law.

WHC will not share your details with any other organisation unless legally obliged to do so.

If the person mentioning you as a referee is accepted by WHC, we will retain your details with the rest of their application information. For an employee this information is deleted about seven years after the end of their employment; for a volunteer, this is after two years of inactivity. If this person is not accepted by WHC, your details will be deleted immediately.

You may contact WHC at [email protected] or on 01494 447699 or at 8 Castle St, High Wycombe HP13 6RF to request to access your data; to have it corrected; to restrict or object to our use of your data; or to have it erased. If you object to our use of your data under our legitimate interest, then we may no longer be able to process the application of the person who mentioned you as a referee.
