Individuals Wycombe Homeless Connection relies on community support from individuals who want to help us make a difference. Individuals help WHC in four main ways. By giving: learn more here. By volunteering: learn more here. By raising funds: see below. You can see how we use funds here. By donating items of food, clothing, toiletries, bedding and basic household items. Our requirements vary, but an up to date list of needs is here. Finally, although we do not promote religion, WHC is a faith-inspired organisation and we greatly value prayer support. Details here. Raising funds for WHC There are several ways: Our fantastic supporters organise or take part in events on their own initiative and donate the proceeds to us. We organise some fundraising events ourselves and these are usually opportunities to raise funds through securing sponsorship. We also often need help with stewarding. Keep an eye on our news items for details of these. Our preferred online giving platform for raising sponsorship is Virgin Money Giving. WHC is also present on BT MyDonate, the Charities Aid Foundation and Make a Donation. Instructions on setting up a Virgin Money Giving page to collect sponsorship are here. We value help with our presence at community events when we sometimes have a stall or sell produce. Keep an eye on our news items for details of these. Wycombe Homeless Connection is on easyfundraising.org.uk and Give as you Live so our supporters can generate free donations whenever they shop on line. More on Easyfundraising Read more Wycombe Homeless Connection is registered in easyfundraising.org.uk, and so is able to get a small cut every time supporters shop on line at retailers that are part of the scheme – and many big names are in there. This is a really easy way to generate free donations whenever WHC supporters shop on line. Over 100,000 other good causes use easyfundraising. Here's how you can help:1. Go here to sign up for free.2. Get shopping at any of over 3,000 easyfundraising partner retailers – including Tesco, John Lewis, Argos and Amazon.3. Feel great, because every time you shop, the retailer will give a percentage of what you spend to Wycombe Homeless Connection. The cut is small in percentage terms but on a larger purchase (like a holiday!) it can be significant. We'd be thrilled if you signed up. It's really easy, and over a million people already have. WHC supporters have raised a few hundred pounds this way. You can find out more here. The best part is that easyfundraising will offer you a reminder that will – with a couple of exceptions – tell you on screen when you land on the site of a retailer that is part of the scheme, and literally a couple of clicks will then tell the retailer that you want a cut on this purchase. The Donation Reminder is here. If you use an iPhone or iPad, there’s an app that will help you shop and tell you how much you have raised.
