One former WHC guest in his 30s had had his ups and downs, but he found work in the catering industry and started a relationship. However, then his relationship broke down, he lost his job and his home and slipped back into addiction. Sleeping on the floor of a house where drug abuse was habitual, he knew he needed help. But he was so ashamed of his situation that he did not know who to reach out to. Thankfully, one day he made the brave decision to attend a WHC drop-in session. With the help of staff he decided to try and end his drug use for good. After a referral to the drugs team at SMART, and with help from WHC to move to a new area and a supportive environment, he began to rebuild his life.
